March 19, 2025: Atlantic Council’s ‘Global Prosperity Forum’
The US-based Atlantic Council’s Freedom and Prosperity Center will host a ‘Global Prosperity Forum’ on March 19, 2025, in Washington, D.C. The forum will start at 9 AM and end at 6:00 PM ET that day—and will be live streamed on YouTube on this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4B5RTQlwWpA
To receive an alert regarding the event’s start, one must hit the ‘Notify me’ button on that link if one has a YouTube account, which is free. That would suffice if one wishes to watch the proceedings; but to participate in them formally, one would have to fill out a form on this link first:

Atlantic Council’s website promises that the event will focus on ‘developing countries’—and ‘showcase successful case studies, emerging economic research, and insights from global policy experts.’
This event is significant not only because it comes close on the heels of the dismantling of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) by the US President Donald Trump but also due to the growing rift between Europe and the US that undercuts the Council's foundational principle of US-Europe cooperation ('Atlantism').
Under the current Trump administration, the global ‘development’ sector has been severely impacted not only by the dismantling of USAID but also by the US’ withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO), Paris Climate Agreement, and the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). Moreover, American funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has been ceased, and the US is also reconsidering its membership in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Given all that, the Global Prosperity Forum would serve as a pointer to what prominent development agencies and funding groups are doing to prepare for at least the next five years of their operations.
