The Nigeria-based Pan-African Dialogue Institute (TPADI) will hold a Zoom meeting titled ‘Witchcraft in Africa—Myth, Reality and Abuses: The Pan-African Response’ on Saturday, March 15, 2025.

The meeting will start at 6 AM Cameroon & Nigeria time; 8 AM Kenya time; 5 AM UK/Ghana time; or 11:30 AM India time.

This digital poster has been circulated by the Pan-African Dialogue Institute to advertise its Zoom meeting on’ Witchcraft in Africa’.

Aside from TPADI’s director and Biblical scholar Dr. Effiong Joseph Udo, the meeting will have the following speakers: Dr. Cosmas Ebo Sarbah, who teaches Comparative Religion and Inter-religious Dialogue at the University of Ghana; Dr. Dennis Ejikeme Igwe, who teaches Philosophy at the University of Uyo; Abigail Ekangouo, English teacher and educationist from Cameroon; Reverend Dr. John Peter Biwere, who teaches Islamic theology at Kenyatta University; Mutombo Nkulu-N'Sengha, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, who teaches Religious Studies at California State University-Northridge (CSUN); and the well-known anti-witchhunt activist Dr. Leo Igwe, who founded the organisation Advocacy for Alleged Witches.

The Pan-African Dialogue Institute (TPADI) is based on the campus of the University of Uyo in the city of Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State—which is very likely the topmost oil-producing state in the South-South zone of Nigeria.


Dr. Piyush Mathur taught Communication at the American University of Nigeria through 2006-2008; he is the author of the book Technological Forms and Ecological Communication: A Theoretical Heuristic (Lexington Books, 2017).
