February 12, 2025: EU’s hybrid conference on gender equality in FP10 and beyond

Horizon Europe—the European Union’s (EU) ‘research and innovation funding programme until 2027’—shall hold its GENDERACTIONplus Final Conference on February 12, 2025 at Ateliers des Tanneurs, Brussels as well as online.

Titled ‘Towards new Horizons: Inclusive Gender Equality in FP10 and Beyond’, the conference is expected

to review the progress made in advancing inclusive gender equality in research and innovation in the EU; assess advances in policy coordination accomplished through GENDERACTIONplus Communities of Practice; and engage in a “whole system” dialogue with policy makers, research funders, ERA stakeholder organisations, ERA gender equality officers, and scholars to discuss the challenges and opportunities ahead. (Horizon Europe, 2025)

One could register for the online version of the conference via this Google Docs form, whose URL is as follows: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1FVOZ9UjwvRlvn99DIrFODO86CQEERThQhBfcdYq7Rvk/viewform?edit_requested=true

In the EU parlance, ‘FP10’ refers to the Next Framework Programme slated to start in January 2028; ‘ERA’ is the abbreviation for ‘European Research Area’—which is an initiative ‘to create a single, borderless market for research, innovation and technology across the EU.’

Notably, the ERA also includes the non-EU countries of Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom—and retains Israel as an associated member.
