Francesca Albanese will speak in Munich on February 15, 2025
Ms. Francesca Albanese, the widely celebrated United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, will speak on February 15, 2025 at 6:00 PM CET (5:00 PM UTC) at the International Munich Peace Conference, smartvillage, Rosenkavalierplatz 13, Arabellapark.
The conference website put out a notice regarding Albanese’s presentation a little more than a week prior, on February 9; however, online ticketing to the event had faced some glitches, which are fixed now. One could purchase a ticket online by clicking here; or one could buy it at the venue.
This is a screenshot of the event’s ticket section; it indicates that Albanese’s speech has been sold out. However, a subsequent notice on the conference website indicated that online ticketing had been facing some glitches, and thus only a limited number of tickets could be issued. This problem is fixed as of February 15—and tickets could be purchased both online and onsite.
The cancellation of Albanese presentation on the university’s campus had prompted a group of international academics to write a letter of protest to the university administration; a copy of this letter was posted on X (formerly Twitter).
The conference website indicates that Albanese’ presentation—focussing on the fast emerging role of international law ‘as a crucial tool to amplify marginalized voices and challenge systems of oppression’—will be live streamed in German and English; however, it does not provide a link from where this live-streaming could be viewed. Thoughtfox has sent a comment about that missing link to the website; if we receive any response, we would update the information here (such as by posting that link).
Update: Maria R. Feckl from the International Munich Peace Conference got back to Thoughtfox on February 15; per her message, Albanese’ presentation will be live-streamed in English and German on YouTube. Here are the links:

Correction: Based upon the prompt on the ticketing portal, this website had previously reported that the tickets to the event had been sold out; however, that prompt was false, owing to some technical glitches, and this report was corrected on February 15 to reflect the fact that tickets to the event were again available both online and offline (i.e., at the venue).
